Filthy Gods by R. Scarlett ~ REVIEW TOUR ~

Filthy Gods (American Gods 0.5),

an all-new Sexy Romance by R. Scarlett is

AVAILABLE NOW!!

Prelude in the American Gods series.
Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them.
And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them.
As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers.
The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other.
Deadly opponents, deadlier minds.
I'd sworn I'd never give him the upper hand, until...
The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years?
He just discovered it…and now he has all the power.

REVIEWED BY JILL

5 huge stars for our first look into the American Gods series by R. Scarlett. While this is a novella length book it packs a serious punch with it's introduction to all the intriguing characters. The American Gods are a group of insanely wealthy, over privileged men who grew up together and now attend Yale with futures in law, business, banking and of course politics - they literally are the men who will one day rule the world.
Nathaniel Radcliffe is the sole heir to both his mother's affluent hotel empire and his father's political legacy. To say he is well off is an understatement but he has never known another way and tends to treat people he cares for with utter respect and loyalty. When she first debated with him in class three years ago he was captivated and they have gone rounds ever since but the summer before their senior year he sees her working for his mother and learns things aren't at all what they seem.
Juliette Monroe worked herself to the bone to get into Yale on a full academic scholarship. While tuition is covered she still has to pay for her room and board and is only allowed one job during the semester so she tries to get by working as much as possible during the summers. This summer seemed to be especially promising with a lucrative job at a country club until she gets there and realizes her nemesis is the owner's son. The very bane of her existence and the star of one too many of her fantasies finds out she's not who everyone thinks she is and is threatening to blast her business all over school unless she play his games.
This was an intense love story with sexy characters that were both filthy yet sweet too. Knowing that Ms. Scarlett has barely scratched the surface of these intriguing men I can safely say I highly recommend this book and will anxiously be awaiting the rest in the series!

The Sinister Silhouette by Alex Grayson ~ COVER REVEAL ~ GIVEAWAY ~

Title: The Sinister Silhouette
Author: Alex Grayson
Genre: Romance Suspense
Release Date: May 25, 2018
Cover Design: Cover Me Darling

“Luca….”
She whispers my name at night, filling my dreams with her haunting beauty. Her tormented amber eyes
beg me for something I don’t understand, and her agonizing pain becomes my own.
For years, she’s come to me, calling my name.
For years, I’ve never known who she was.
Until now….
.
“LUCA….”
The willowy feminine voice comes from behind me. I slowly turn my head first, then the rest of my body and look for the source.
Blackness. Pure and absolute. That’s all I see. Except for the tiny twinkling lights. There’s a shit ton of them. It reminds me of the times I would spend the summers with my aunt and uncle out in the country. As a kid, I would always sneak out at night and lie on the roof when the sky was clear and the moon wasn’t visible. It was my favorite time of the month, because everything was so dark, except for the stars. I’d lie out there for hours and just watch them twinkle, every so often catching one that soared across the black sky.
These aren’t stars, it isn’t a moonless sky, and I don’t fucking like this. These tiny sparks of light float right in front of me, all around me, almost like glowing specks of dust.
“Lucccaaaa….”
Warm air whispers across my ear, and I spin, expecting to find someone behind me, and still see nothing but those damn flecks of light. Squinting, I try to look past them and the darkness to see something. Any fucking thing.
Frustration grows in my stomach when nothing appears.
“Who in the hell are you?” I yell, anger deepening my voice into a growl.
My ears strain as I listen closely. All I hear is my own breathing and the slight pounding in my ears from my heartbeat. The beat only gets louder with my mounting aggravation.
“Luca.”
This time, the voice sounds rushed. It’s still whispered softly, but not the slow calling of the other two times. It’s urgent. There’s an echo too. It comes from behind me, but the echo drifts around me from every direction.
I tip my head back and snarl to the… ceiling? The sky? I have no fucking clue. “What in the hell do you want from me?”
Not expecting an answer, because I didn’t get one to my previous question, I’m surprised when the voice comes again. It’s close. So close, it almost seems like the words aren’t spoken out loud, but are just somehow in my head.
“I need you.”
My brows slash down into a frown. There’s pain in the softly spoken words, and for some reason I don’t like the emotion coming from the voice. Something sharp pierces my chest, like a dull blade slowly being sunk into my sternum, taking my breath away. I rub the spot, not understanding why the pain is there, but knowing it’s caused by the agony in the woman’s voice.
“Where are you?” My tone is gruff from the stinging ache.
“Here,” she whispers.
I whip around and still see nothing but the twinkling lights. I reach out, hoping that even if I can’t see anything, I can feel something. It’s so dark I can’t even see my hand in front of me, only the tiny lights floating by in a rush at my hurried movement.
One catches my eye off in the distance about fifteen feet from me, and I hone in on it. It’s slightly bigger than the rest. I take a step forward, then stop when it begins to grow. It doesn’t get brighter; the luminosity stays the same. It’s just the size that changes. Actually, it looks like the light is dimming the bigger it gets. Like it’s no longer a light, but a fog-like substance.
It stretches longways, getting greater and greater. I start moving toward it, but no matter how many steps I take, the same distance stays between it and me.
Something starts to form in the white haze. I squint, not really sure what it is, because it’s almost transparent now. It’s still growing, but the bigger it gets, the more it loses its solidness.
A face.
I can barely make it out through the white haze, but it’s a woman. Her features become clearer, but the more the face forms, the more it fades as well.
I take a couple of steps forward, then jerk to a halt when I remember it does me no good.
“Fuck,” I mutter.
What in the hell is this shit?
“Lucaaaa….”
The voice whispers again, and I know it’s from the translucent vision, but the lips don’t move.
The face becomes a face and shoulders, then face, shoulders, arms, and torso. Her hair flows around her, moving slowly, like it’s floating in water.
She looks at me, and the stark pain in her eyes almost has me staggering back with the force of it.
I really don’t fucking like that look. And I really don’t fucking know why. I’ve never seen the woman before. She doesn’t even look vaguely familiar. Why in the hell would her pain be my pain?
“Who are you?” I demand.
Again, her lips don’t move, but I still hear the voice inside my head. “Come to me, Luca. I need you.”
Before I have the chance to react to her words, something happens. I tense as swarms of the nearby glowing dust infuse the white mist of the woman. Her crystalline appearance starts to solidify. Her face and the upper half of her body become more visible. Her hair, which up until that point was colorless, is a deep, rich brown. It’s long, flowing to the middle of her back. Her eyes are light brown, but not an ordinary brown. They’re an unusual golden amber. I’m not sure if it’s because of her noncorporeal appearance or if that’s their natural color, but they seem to glow.
More specks of dust penetrate the woman’s form, and the more that rushes in, the brighter she gets.
She lifts her arm, as if reaching out to me, and before it registers what I’m doing, I reach out to her.
When I take a step closer, the light surrounding her shimmers brighter. This time I’m able to shorten the gap between us. I take another step, and it seems to glisten even more. I’m tall, so when I take my next step, there’s only a few feet separating us. But the brightness is now almost too much to bear. I have to squint from the sheer brilliance of it.
There’s only inches between the tips of her fingers and mine now. The pain resting in my chest intensifies the closer I get, but it’s as if there’s a force that’s pushing me toward her. Like if I don’t, the pain would be a thousand times worse. I don’t know why, but something inside me says I must go to her.
I hold my breath as the tip of my middle finger touches the glowing tip of hers. Several things happen at once. A low growl resonates deep in the back of my throat, my fingers curl into a fist and my arm drops to my side, and the fierce pain I was experiencing in my chest turns so excruciating I’d swear my heart is spilling out onto the floor at my feet.
The trifecta of feelings happens because the instant my fingertips touch the woman, her form disintegrates. The thousands of pieces of dust that make up her form fall away into space, leaving me once again in complete blackness.
I tip my head back and an angry, pain-filled roar leaves my lips at the loss of something so important.

REVIEWED BY JILL

4 stars for - Tacet a Mortuis - book three in the Elite King's Club by Amo Jones. This book has to be read after both Silver Swan and Broken Puppet or you will be absolutely lost and to tell you the truth even after reading books one and two you may still find yourself trying to figure out what the heck is really going on but that's just the way this author's brain works. Maddie and BIshop have been on one heck of a journey that has lead them all over the globe but it all comes to an epic conclusion that had me re-reading that passage three times to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. With all the Elite Kings getting at least one of their own books I know this won't be the last we see of this crazy intense couple.
Madison is once again angry with Bishop for his past which he withheld from her. So she does what she seems to do best and runs into the arms of Nate not caring at all that Bishop has remained loyal. While Madison gets her life together and realizes it's time to make a decision once and for all about her relationship with Bishop her life starts to fall apart around her.
Bishop is the leader of the current group of Elite Kings and as such he will not tolerate dissention in the ranks. Therefore when word gets out that Nate once again "comforted" his girl he is not only angry but he vows that will be the last time he ever makes that mistake again. Madison will  understand no one is to touch her but him or they can end their relationship once and for all.
Yes, many questions were answered but so many more questions were raised too. I'm hoping for shorter than once a year timeline for these books just so I can keep up.

AMIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW

Just know this is a duet and there is a cliffy !!

What an ending - If you have become invested in this family as I have you will be shocked and horrified with this new development. It is true this family is no stranger to drama and heartache and sadly for them it is nowhere near over.

Despite having known Sutton's heartache it didn't make this read any easier. Sutton is struggling with the loss of her husband and how to go on living and providing for their son Jason. She has no shortage of love and help from her family BUT David has been such a blessing the past year. He has worked for the Wrights and as an honorary family member he has really left his mark on both Sutton and Jason. Something has shifted and Sutton doesn't know what to do with the feelings she has. I love the simple honesty in their actions and chemistry. It was nice to see Sutton happy and alive again. Of course this wasn't without issue. Not only were their people attempting to sabotage Sutton's desires to move on BUT there was a BIG secret David was keeping that even I didn't catch. Curious to see how Sutton and her whole family will overcome this , if they even can...

Excerpt:

In the dark, during the fundraising video, she leaned into me, taking my hand. “What’s going on?” “Nothing.” “Caden.” My name was more than a statement. It was a comment on how well she knew the animal, and how well she loved it. If eyes could listen, hers did, gazing at me in the darkness. I couldn’t lie to her for much longer. The entire invite list was watching the video. The bar was empty. The hallway lights were dimmed. The kitchen staff moved constantly and quietly to set up the buffet. I laced my fingers in hers. She had a gold band we’d gotten out of expediency. No big sparkling rock. No sign I’d ever courted her properly before marrying her. My father always said a man didn’t skip steps if he wanted to do something once. I slid my cheek to hers and whispered in her ear, “I want to destroy you.” Her hand tightened in mine so tightly I could feel our bones. Her glands must have fired, because the apples and the perfume melded and became something so uniquely her my balls ached—but not for simple release. For something more. An agreement of ownership. Waiting wasn’t an option. Pulling her by the hand, I headed for the hallway. “Caden,” she said when we were away from the event, “slow down.” I didn’t. I couldn’t. I pulled her down the carpeted steps to the lower level, stepping over a velvet rope at the bottom. The lights were out in the hall. Three doors led to three empty event rooms. “What’s with you lately?” she asked. “Are you saying no?” “I’m asking a question.” I backed into one of the rooms and pulled her in. It was dark but for light coming from under the doorways on each side. I walked in deeper, eyes adjusting quickly enough to avoid the tables and stacks of chairs on wheeled dollies. “So am I.” I faced her. “Are you saying no?” “What are you hoping I’ll say yes to?” “I’m going to pull that dress up until I can get to these hard nipples.” I pinched them through the dress and she gasped. “Then I’ll bend you over one of these tables and fuck you so hard walking’s going to hurt. Are you saying no?” “I’m not. But I want to know what’s going on with you.” “Pull your dress up before I shred it.”

About the Author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets. Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels. She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood. If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Jill's Review of Bane by L.J. Shen ~ BLOG TOUR ~

SBPR-BT-BANNER-2

Bane, the highly-anticipated next standalone in the Sinners of Saint Series by L.J. Shen is LIVE

Bane-Cover-Facebook

Bane

Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.

Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.

Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.

Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.

Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter

Hot as hell, cold as ice.

I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.

She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.

She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.

More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.

Little does she know, I have the f****** teeth for it.

1I'm not afraid (1)

EXCERPT

Bane Then. A liar. A con. A godless thief. My reputation was a big wave that I rode, one that swallowed everyone around me, drowning every attempt to fuck with what’s mine. I’d been known as a stoner, but power was my real drug of choice. Money meant nothing. It was tangible, and therefore easy to lose. See, to me, people were a game. One I’d always known how to win. Move the rooks around. Change the queen when necessary. Guard the king at all fucking times. I was never distracted, never deterred, and never jealous. So, imagine my surprise when I found myself being all three at once. It was a siren with coal black hair who robbed me of riding the biggest wave I’d seen that summer. Of my precious attention. Of my goddamn breath. She glided from the ocean to the beach like nightfall. I crouched down, straddling my surfboard, gawking. Edie and Beck stopped beside me, floating on their boards in my periphery. “This one’s taken by Emery Wallace,” Edie had warned. Thief. “This one’s the hottest masterpiece in town.” Beck had chuckled. Con. “More importantly, she only dates rich bastards.” Liar. I had all the ingredients to pull her in. Her body was a patch of fresh snow. White, fair, like the sun shone through her, never quite soaking in. Her skin defied nature, her ass defied my sanity, but it was the words on her back that made my logic rebel. It wasn’t her curves or the way she swayed her hips like a dangling, poisonous apple that warranted my reaction to her. It was that tattoo I had noticed when she swam close to me earlier, the words trickling down the nape of her neck and back in a straight arrow. My Whole Life Has Been Pledged to This Meeting with You Pushkin. I only knew one person who went gaga over the Russian poet, and, like the famous Alexander, he was currently six feet under. My friends began to paddle back to shore. I couldn’t move. It felt like my balls were ten tons heavy. I didn’t believe in love at first sight. Lust, maybe, but even that wasn’t the word I was looking for. No. This girl fucking intrigued me. “What’s her name?” I snatched Beck’s ankle, yanking him back to me. Edie stopped pedaling and looked back, her gaze ping-ponging between us. “Doesn’t matter, bro.” “What’s. Her. Name?” I repeated through a locked jaw. “Dude, she’s, like, way young.” “I will not repeat myself a third time.” Beck’s throat bobbed with a swallow. He knew damn well that I didn’t mess around. If she was legal—it was on. “Jesse Carter.” Jesse Carter was going to be mine before she even knew me. Before I even knew her. Before her life turned upside down and her fate rewrote itself with her blood. So here was the truth that even my lying ass wouldn’t admit later on in our story—I wanted her before. Before she became business. Before the truth caged her in. Before the secrets gushed out. I never did get to surf that day. My surfboard broke. Should have known it was an omen. My heart was going to be next in line. And for a small chick, she did one hell of a fucking job obliterating it.

REVIEWED BY JILL

4 stars for - Bane - book four in the Sinners of Saint series by L.J. Shen. While we were introduced to Bane in - Scandalous - book three of the series you can read this completely separate and not risk many spoilers. This one honestly feels like a spin-off of the original series as the hot-holes we know and love aren't really in this book at all instead we are introduced to a whole new world of characters.
Jesse Carter was living the typical life of the overprivileged teen in Todos Santos when the unthinkable happened. Jesse became a hermit barely wanting to attend her senior year of high school and dropping all her former friends and choosing instead to befriend her elderly neighbor and walking her dog in the dead of night. Jesse only leaves her house now to attend the therapy sessions her mother and step-father insist on, she instead spends all her time in her room completely alone.
Roman Protsenko better known to everyone as Bane is the only child of a Russian immigrant mother who raised him by herself. Bane learned early on in order to help provide for him and his mother he needed to do many unsavory things including selling drugs and his body in order to pay the bills. Now that he has lied, conned and stolen for so long it has become second nature to him so when he heads to a meeting with a man claiming his daughter is in need of a friend he is looking for a way to cash in on the deal. Surely there must be a catch if the man is going to invest six million dollars in his new business only if he promises to not touch his step-daughter and just be her friend. Bane figures he's got nothing to worry about until he gets a look at the beautiful broken girl and knows he's in trouble.
I loved the angst-filled, slow burn romance that these two embarked on. Not only did they both need a lot of self discovery to occur but massive amounts of healing needed to happen too. While Ruckus will always be my favorite Hot-Hole, Bane is definitely a close second. Hopefully the other friends and surfers from Café Diem will get stories of their own too.
