Series: The Beaumont Series: Next Generation #2
Author: Heidi McLaughlin
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 12, 2018

Ben Miller met the love of his life the day he crossed paths with Elle James in their high school cafeteria. New to Beaumont, he took a chance when he approached her. Their first encounter was everything his mother ever read to him about fairy tales. He saw the girl who would be his forever.
From the moment Elle James met Ben Miller they’ve been best friends. Everything they did, they did it together, from late night study sessions, family vacations, throwing bottles off the water tower, going to prom and finally moving to California for college.
However, after the almost tragic accident where she nearly lost her twin sister, Elle’s life hasn’t been the same, and neither has her relationship with Ben.
One fateful decision changes the scope of Ben and Elle’s relationship. For one, it means a new beginning. For the other, it means change.

AMIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW
So nice to be back with the Beaumont gang even though they are a bit spread out now. This is book 2 of the Next Generation and definitely cannot be read as a standalone , if you do many spoilers will be given away. This is Elle and Ben's story and if you recall from book 1 - they are besties but Ben of course has so many more feelings for Elle than she even knows. Will they find their way to each other or will Elle's destructive behavior ruin this amazing friendship ??

After almost losing Peyton , her twin , Elle hits a downward spiral. I get it or I understood it to a certain point but she is just being a bratty child for the most part here. She is mad that anyone wants her to get help and she treats her friends and family crappy because she is being very selfish. She chooses to trust in people that really don't care about her and she is about to ruin her future. If everyone else has found ways to cope and move on , including Peyton , then why is Elle having such a hard time ?? Elle messes up big time with Ben and sadly he makes every attempt to ignore and move on from Elle. I don't blame him at all BUT I hate the lack of communication and the way they danced around the truth. Obviously this is the angsty part that makes you keep reading because you just have to know what else will go wrong before they make it right. I really do wish we had more time with Elle and Ben as a couple but I am sure we will get a glimpse of them in whatever comes next. I look forward to the rest of the kids stories and reminiscing about the days of Liam , Harrison and Jimmy !!
